Shannon Development puts Increased Focus on Limerick

Shannon Development has announced the appointment of Gerry Slattery as Regional Development Executive for Limerick City and the National Technology Park (NTP). As part of its Corporate Strategy, Shannon Development is putting a strong focus on the ongoing development of Limerick City as well as the future development of the National Technological Park at Plassey.

Gerry has worked in a wide range of senior positions both in Shannon Development and the private sector for over 25 years on both industrial and tourism projects. A native of Limerick, Gerry was educated in the Crescent College Comprehensive and the University of Limerick, Gerry is an experienced Project Manager and is a Chartered Engineer. He will join the Shannon Development Limerick Team managed by local Limerick man Eoghan Prendergast, Regional Development Manager for Limerick City.

“Gerry’s appointment reinforces our strong commitment to, and focus on the future development of Limerick as a place where new businesses are welcomed and nurtured, and where visitors to the city will remember it as a great place, full of fun, and a must return to location. It is great to have someone with Gerry’s extensive experience of industry and tourism on our Limerick team. Our priorities for Limerick are to encourage new or established entrepreneurs to base or start their businesses in Limerick City including the idea of a live / work solution to their company’s future growth. We will also be looking to build on the recent win of securing the Corporate Games for Limerick by increasing the level of sports related business and visitors for Limerick, as Ireland’s sporting capital”.

The announcement follows on last year’s appointment by Shannon Development of two new senior managers for Limerick City and County.
