“Shannon Development will take the Shannon Region to the next level of economic development,” says new CEO
Development Company working on 2009-2013 Strategy Plan
New Shannon Development Chief Executive, Dr. Vincent Cunnane, is working on a development plan to take the Shannon Region to the next level in terms of economic and social development.
Speaking today (Thursday 25th September’08) from Kerry Technology Park, Tralee, Dr. Cunnane said, “Shannon Development’s future focus will be to identify the critical development needs for the Shannon Region, and to lead and encourage the development of a range of initiatives to position this region as a premier location for business and living.”
Shannon Development is currently devising a Strategic Plan which will act as a blue print for Shannon Development in carrying out its economic development role. The Strategy covers the period 2009-2013, and will set out the Company’s key priorities going forward as they implement their strong government mandated regional development role.
“In devising this plan we hope to take the Shannon Region to next level of economic and social development. In drafting it we will be consulting with a broad range of business and community leaders from around the Shannon Region,” said Dr. Cunnane.
Dr. Cunnane was in Tralee as part of an introductory meeting with members of the North Kerry business community. Introducing Dr. Cunnane to Kerry business representatives John Brassil, Chairman, Shannon Development said, “Challenging economic times call for fresh thinking and new pioneering regional development approaches, and I am confident that the plan being put together will have all the ingredients to lead the region through these difficult economic times.”
