Overseas Tourists Vote Shannon Heritage Tops
Knappogue Castle scoops national excellence award
Shannon Heritage, the Shannon Development tourism subsidiary company, has scooped a National ‘Excellence’ Award for the best dinner entertainment in Ireland. The award comes in recognition of their medieval banqueting operation at 15th century Knappogue Castle in Co. Clare.
Sponsored by CIE Tours International, the National Awards of Excellence are unique as they are based on the personal experiences of customers of CIE Tours, who are asked to complete a detailed questionnaire on their holiday experience. The Awards are designed to acknowledge the high level of service and the warm welcome received by clients brought to Ireland in 2008 by CIE Tours International. The top vote, out of a range of other properties around Ireland, went to Knappogue Castle, a resounding endorsement of the Castle’s medieval dinning and entertainment experience.

A main part of our core work is to ensure customer satisfaction, something we prize very highly, and this award recognises the immense effort we put into ensuring that our customers’ needs are exceeded,” said Mr. John Ruddle, chief executive, Shannon Heritage.
This is not the first award for the Shannon Heritage portfolio of 4 evening entertainments and 8 day visitor attractions.
