John Brennan, well known to television viewers as a presenter of RTE’s “At Your Service” along with his less famous but equally experienced elder brother Damien Brennan of Failte Ireland, will jointly host a meeting of tourism trade in Offaly this coming Monday 24th May. The event will take place in The Tullamore Court Hotel at 7.00pm.
The evening is being organized by the Inter Agency group for Tourism in County Offaly which consists of Failte Ireland, Shannon Development, Offaly County Council, Offaly County Enterprise Board and Offaly Local Development Company.
Francis and John Brennan are brothers and proprietors of the famous 5-star Park Hotel Kenmare, County Kerry. On their RTE programme they help the owners of B&Bs, guesthouses and hotels throughout Ireland who are struggling to keep their businesses afloat. John has expertise in the financial and marketing side of the business and will speak on the evening about marketing without a budget and provide handy tips and advice to tourism businesses in the County. Damien will then run a speed – networking event which will see accommodation providers meet one-to-one with activity providers, festival organizers and tourism attractions in the County
Commenting on the event Bernie Leonard, Shannon Development Tourism Officer South Offaly said: “This initiative is designed to boost the 2010 tourist season. We want to encourage as many of the trade as possible to attend on the evening to devise packages, plan activities, initiate new partnerships and ultimately deliver a quality value product to the discerning holiday makers.”
Deirdre Cole of Failte Ireland added; “We cannot overstate the importance of trade working together. We have had great feedback from similar events run in other areas but more importantly we have seen new products and partnerships and new thinking. We’re looking forward to a good turnout on the night.”
